Cosmosing Classifieds Adds Support for Photos, Videos

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — A competitor against Craigslist's dominance of the world of free online classifieds will now let users post photos, videos and entire podcasts in conjunction with their job listings.

The site is called Cosmosing.com, and its classified page features three columns of job and personal listings in most major categories, including an adult gigs page.

But why start a new online classifieds site when Craigslist already commands the market? A representative for Cosmosing.com said that the Internet can support another one.

"The success of free online classified services such as Craigslist is proof of the importance associated with the need for an easy and cheap avenue of marketing various offers, goods and services through the Internet," he said. "Despite the successes of Craigslist, however, the chance for expression is limited, due to the fact that the service primarily supports text as a medium of advertising and little else."

Craigslist also supports photo uploads.

The main area of Cosmosing.com offers a full slate of social-networking features, including customizable member profiles, a message board, blog support and other features. The site's current Alexa rank is 430,073, and although its message board has virtually no posts yet, the classifieds page does have a job listing already.
